私は工業高校を卒業してすぐに正社員として就職しました。それは様々な工場で使われる設備関係を製造する会社でしたが興味があって就職したわけではありません。
私の通った工業高校では90%以上の人が卒業後すぐに就職したのですが、多くの人たちは学校に来る求人票の中からわけも分からずに適当に選んでいました。
選考ポイントは求人票に記載された給料、休日、勤務地、ネームバリュー以上です。社会人となって２０数年経った今から考えるとその完全に思考停止した選考方法はありえないと思うのですが、高校３年生だった私にはそれが当然であるかのように適当に先行した企業に一生勤めていくと考えていました。
おそらくですが半分くらいの方はその適当に選んだ会社に自分を慣らしていって定年まで勤め上げるのではないでしょうか？私は就職して１５年経ったこと違和感を覚え転職を決意しました。転職して正解だったか？それとも残っておいたほうが良かっただろうか？今でも時々考えることがあります。
